Feed The Need 2018

POSTED: November 19, 2018 under Blog Events

Meals are an important part of how Recovery Café San Jose builds a healing community around recovery. We’re proud of the food we serve, and our members appreciate the quality, the variety, and the love that goes into preparing each meal.

The act of sitting with another person and sharing a meal, whether member-to-member, or a volunteer eating with our members, creates an informal setting for members to talk about their goals and challenges. Beyond the more “official” setting of the Recovery Circle (support group) and School for Recovery classes, shared meals are about extending their circle of support of out into the world.

With that in mind, we are dedicating the week of Thanksgiving this year to Feeding the Need. Our goal this week is to raise $5,775 – the funds to necessary to provide 1,500 meals to our members.

All it takes is $27 to provide a full week of meals to one member. And, every dollar you give will be Doubled thanks to our Year End Challenge Fund!

You can donate now (and have your donation matched) at: recoverycafesj.networkforgood.com. How many meals can you contribute?

I’m helping to Feed the Need at Recovery Café San Jose to fund meals for those in recovery from addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. Since opening in 2014 more than 1,500 people have found support in this healing community in downtown San Jose. The Café provides support groups, job and life skills classes, social activities in a safe and sober environment, and, of course, meals. All it takes is $27 to provide a full week of meals for one member. How many meals can you provide? Please donate at https://recoverycafesj.networkforgood.com this week and your donation will be doubled!
