Closing the Gap Breakfast

These past 5 years have been an incredible journey of self-discovery. We have a better sense of who we are as an organization and who we serve. When we first opened the doors we were open only 3 days a week, serving a handful of  members and running 2 recovery circles.

Now we are open 5 days a week, serving 170 members weekly, providing 11 School for Recovery classes each quarter session and running 15 weekly recovery circles.

We approach recovery holistically,  addressing the full spectrum of human needs and working toward healing. Members are learning tools to support their recovery and growth through the power of mindfulness and meditation –slowing down and breathing  – to be present in every moment.

They are nourishing and taking care of their bodies through yoga, tai chi and nutrition classes. They explore what healthy relationships look like through boundary setting, non-violent communication and trauma recovery.

Members engage in art, music and dance as  healthy ways to have fun and express themselves. They are gaining work skills  through our culinary and barista training program.

Members  are learning better money habits, the importance of credit scores ,and managing debt – becoming more financially literate.

Recovery Café is a safe place – a supportive environment for members to grow and learn.

Here is  a short video to give you a glimpse into the Café – please enjoy – A Place to Belong.
