Privacy Statement: How we use your information
When you donate we will ask for your contact information (address, email, phone). You may opt out of giving us any information, but we would like at least one method of contact in order to send you a thank you & tax receipt letter, or to ask a question if there's any problem in depositing the donation.
How we use your email: Unless you specify otherwise, we will add you to our monthly e-newsletter list. This short monthly email has program highlights and news to keep you connected to what is happening in the Cafe.
At two points during the year you may also receive messages related to fundraising. In the spring, you will receive an invitation to our Annual Breakfast event, which is usually the first Friday of May. Between Thanksgiving and New Year's you may also receive emails regarding our Annual Campaign.
How we use your address: This is primarily to send you a thank you letter and tax receipt. IRS regulations require us to collect this information for certain larger donations. We only send fundraising information by regular mail once each year, around Thanksgiving.
How we use your phone: Rarely, if ever! An occasional problem with a credit card payment may result in our bookkeeper phoning you. Occasionally a Board member or our Executive Director will make a few calls to select donors to follow-up as well. We do NOT ever use paid phone solicitors.
What we will NEVER do: We do not share, sell, or trade contact lists with any other organizations or businesses. Annual reporting to the IRS is the only exception, as required by law.
